The Calm Capsule is a student project focused on relaxation and mindfulness as a way to improve performance and boost resilience in competitive situations.

The capsule features visual, auditory, and tactile aspects, together with guided breathing and meditation exercises, that allow the visitor to refocus and improve their performance

Although the space was initially designed for chess players, it has a great number of applications beyond the 64 squares.

The Calm Capsule has found that parents and coaches have also benefited from using the space by allowing them to find a moment of peace among the stressful climate of taking care of their children the entire day.

Furthermore, the research and work from the Capsule is being applied to the new Wellness Space at the Packer Collegiate Institute as part of a senior independent study.
